Between a query box and search results lies a realm of black box magic—or at least that's how it appears to our users. Those charged with creating, managing, and maintaining search and discovery functionality know it's hard work that makes the magic happen.
The Enterprise Search & Discovery conference is looking for your insights, your expertise, and your experiences with search and discovery. How have you made search indistinguishable from magic? What wizardry have you done to build a successful search and discovery environment? How are you enhancing the user experience? What techniques work in your organization to ensure user satisfaction? What technologies stand out for you? What happens on the back end to make users think you sprinkled fairy dust on them?
Whether you equate enterprise search to insight engines, knowledge discovery solutions, enhanced discoverability, or cognitive computing, we want to hear from you. New technologies, next-generation information access, innovation acceleration, and novel approaches to search and discovery are on the agenda for 2017. Got some ideas on improving search speed and relevancy, how search results should look, or choosing one technology over another? What about your thoughts on information governance or the effect of mobile devices and the cloud on search and discovery? If you could wave a magic wand, what would you change?
We seek dynamic speakers who can discuss the technical aspects of enterprise search as well as the business implications of successful deployments. We are also looking for people to present half-day workshops.
The many aspects of search and discovery include customers finding products, companies monetizing real-time activities, and organizations maximizing the data they own. Leveraging internal data in light of cloud computing, outcome-based metrics, adaptive filtering, taxonomy and metadata tools, predictive analysis, open source, knowledge graphs, and mobile delivery raises people's expectations for search and discovery. Add Big Data into the mix, and we have lots of magic to explore! Let's rethink how to handle search, databases, analysis, and decision making.

The audience at Enterprise Search & Discovery is well-informed and tech-savvy. We're looking for speakers who can “wow” this audience with their insights into designing enterprise search and discovery so that it empowers business operations, enhances user experience, and allows workplace innovation to occur. We would like a mix of formal presentations and interactive panel participation. Case studies of search (both internal and customer-facing), social networks, ecommerce, or any combination thereof are particularly welcome. Feel free to suggest something different from the normal conference presentation.
